Reading, Writing, and Science

New pile of books for this month.
This month we are heavy on science fiction and fantasy (my favorite genres). One of these I may skim instead of read completely. One I finished on the plane last week. Two I'm halfway through already. And the rest...will take me a while.

I'm writing like a madwoman. Almost four thousand words just this weekend. I'm also fighting the voice in my head telling me that all the words on the page are CRAP. My son read some of it last night and laughed out loud at a part he was supposed to laugh out loud, so there's that.

I took the beagle for a walk yesterday and listened to a science podcast. It is a bit odd listening to quantum physics multi dimension theories while watching your dog pee on every tree she passes. I found myself wondering if the choices she was making were causing dimensional splits. "Not that tree. That one. The fate of the universe depends on it." Also, why doesn't light require a medium to travel? It generates it own? Self generating light medium? And we can't tap into that for space travel?

Finally, I decided to create the Electron Diet. Because who doesn't want to be infinitesimally small? Sign me up. SHRINK ME TO AN IMPOSSIBLY MINUSCULE SIZE! DO IT NOW! I would happily work for the government, sneaking into hot zones and sliding impossibly tiny bombs into impossibly small spaces, then laughing hysterically as they made people burp - because really, what damage can we expect from something so tiny the tiniest thing in the universe can carry it? Not much, really.
