Gaming

I have loved video games since I was a kid playing Atari while sitting on the family room floor.  My favorite game?  Space Invaders or Asteroids...I honestly can't remember.  I just spent a few fun minutes on the Atari Arcade site.  One of the game choices?  Centipede.  I don't remember that game.  I feel deprived, and also inept, because I kept bumping into the spider.  My son, who was watching me play, was not impressed.

When my parents purchased our first Mac my father picked up a detective game that if I remember correctly started you in the bathroom, with amnesia.  I loved that game.  AND I love the internet, cause if you go here you can watch a walk through of the game Deja Vu (which is the game I'm referring to).  Now the animation seems antiquated and simplistic, but back then, it was the bomb.  I also played Uninvited - this link has a great run through for those of you who want to relive the horror that was the skeletons.

And then came Myst.  Best game ever.  I loved it and all the sequels.

I'm mentioning all of this not to relive my gaming history, but rather to explain how much I'm looking forward to The Witness.  At this point, with the anticipation I feel, the game can only disappoint me.  It has no chance of living up to my expectations.  I feel bad for the developers, cause they really tried.  It looks great, honestly, but I have given it the ability to fight crime and solve the global warming problem.  Things it cannot do.  So I will be disappointed.  Just saying.  (hoping not, though)

If The Witness doesn't cure the world of diseases at least I have the next Lego's game to look forward to.  Need me some Loki.  (really, I do)
