Jake takes a header into the arm of the airport chair and knocks one tooth out and another tooth loose. Tears, saliva and a lot of blood later, we landed in Oakland. Begged him to take the four inch pad of drool soaked tissues off of his face.
Did you know that when you have a swollen lip and a loose tooth you cannot actually sip from a straw or eat without gross extravagance? We purchased two more packs of tissues.
Second flight, fine. Landed in Seattle, rented car without issue, then proceeded to get lost, while using navigation. Did a few circles on an astonishing number of freeways, before finally headed in the right direction. To find...
That they had given away our hotel room - the two bedroom hotel suite that I booked two months ago. That I was going to pay extra for. Needless to say, I wasn't about to pay extra for their substitute - one bed with a pull out couch.
I made a scene.
So we have a one bedroom with pull out couch that I'm now using points for and they agreed to comp a night. Tears, saliva and thankfully no blood later we moved in, ate dinner, shopped for sandwich makings for tomorrow, went swimming and are now going to turn in.
Whew.
Hopefully, the rest of the trip will be less irritating and utterly glorious! Give Jake a hug for me. Let Sarah enjoy her Twilight obsession. It will end after the final movies. You should bite the bullet and read the books. They're good. Love you, Mom
ReplyDeleteWe got Jake and Sarah's postcards today! Jake said he was having a good day in Olympic Natl Forest because his mouth wasn't full of blood. That's my boy!
