Yesterday we watched the British Top Gear, howling with laughter as they fumbled their way across Africa. Tonight we're watching the American version and while I'm laughing, it doesn't feel as fun. The American guys are likable (I love Rutledge), but it is just too freaking staged. Their banter is awkward. The messes they get into are predictable. The boys are too clean. I can't imagine the Americans spending the night in an economy motel with poop stained beds or being filmed the next morning with bags the size of apples under their eyes.
I want to enjoy the American version more, but I would have to abandon most of my college education to do so. I mean, really...nav systems don't take you through store parking lots. Geez.
