Memphis

Yes, there were goats in a bar.
I thought we'd start this post with a little culture.  Did you know that Memphis is the name of a city in Egypt?  And that the Mississippi delta that's near Memphis, Tennessee is much like the delta near Memphis, Egypt?  And that Memphis is named after Memphis?  And that there is a pyramid (much like the Luxor, but with less black) in the USA Memphis?

I thought not.
We went to the roof of the Peabody to see the Duck Palace, but it was being renovated, so we just took pictures.
Thanks to Irene, there was very little humidity and the weather was fabulous.  Watching the sunset over the Mississippi from the roof of a beautiful hotel was a great experience.  We were entertained by two sisters celebrating a birthday.  They were very happy, thanks to a great deal of alcohol.  They offered to take our picture if we took theirs and since one of them was a "stylist" there was much instruction as to how I should hold the camera.  It took longer than it should have.

The Rendezvous - Dinner Tuesday night, after we missed the ducks at the Peabody, again.
The much "loved" sign outside of Graceland.
The parking was ten dollars and the tour was thirty one dollars and we didn't have enough time to make that worth it, so we parked in front of Graceland and took pictures.  It was quite shocking to see all the graffiti.  I'm sure that many of them thought they were doing it out of love, but all it did was make what was probably a beautiful wall, look run down.  And there was no way to read the sign.

Graceland - As close as we could get.
