Chicagoland

Went to Sterling, Illinois today.  The long drive there was pleasant with pretty views of snow covered farmland.  In case you didn't know, Sterling is the site of Ronald Reagan's boyhood home.  Click on the link to go to the website to learn more.  We did not get to see it, as the potential for an icy drive home kept us on the move back to Chicago as soon as we could.  Every time I'm here in Illinois, driving through farmland, I think about my grandparents and am fairly sure that what I'm seeing is what they saw when they were little (except for all the cars...and maybe the Starbucks positioned helpfully at a few interstate exits...and for that matter, the interstate itself).

Tomorrow...Milwaukee!!
