Went to Chicago this week. Was exhausting. Could hardly speak intelligently, so I felt it best to avoid writing. I also think I needed a break from expecting myself to do everything all at once. Each night at the hotel I would edit my story for a few hours then stop and watch Farscape. One more trip next week and then I'm stationary for a while.
The mind numbing cold in Chicago followed me home and I just spent time under a scalding hot jet of water trying to put feeling back into my tired limbs. My wonderful husband is making me popcorn and very soon I will stop writing and let the television lull me to sleep.
Landing in LAX last night was beyond beautiful. Normally it is city lights, but this time...clouds.
I kept taking pictures, but couldn't get one that truly showed how stunning the view was. This one was the closest. Trust me, it was amazing.
Went to the Huntington over the weekend. The Chinese Garden has started to fill in and the once barren patches between the white granite bridges are now filled with flowering bushes and long hanging willows. I always think I could spend hours there, but normally after a short time I feel content and ready to head back out to the city. The boys always look for bugs. We found a caterpillar this time. He was Chinese, we think...at least that is where he was hanging out.
