I see a woman who works hard. She is tired more than she is alert. She works for others.
Her joy is wrapped with a few. It is stretched thin and tears easily.
She sees a time, somewhere in the distant future, when she'll wake with the sun and relax the morning away gazing at vistas of blue and green.
I see a person who does not see color, but rather feels it. What she perceives is more important than what she hears. She is often blind.
She is bitter. She is hopeful. She is confident. She is filled with self-doubt. She is reflective. She is critical. She is all things at once.
She does not wear clothes well. But she tries. So she is forgiven.
I see a woman who loves her children. She tucks away images of them to treasure.
I see a woman...
Good Morning
ReplyDeletei just read an hour's worth of your blog--I love it! I've read your first 2 books. My reward for walking at least 30 minutes every day and doing strength training 3 times a week is to purchase and download a book from amazon. Your books are being savored like a piece of chocolate would be ( if I weren't trying to give myself healthy, non-food rewards for getting into shape). This week's reward--A Violet March. I'll download it and read it while on a family vacation. Can't wait. Thank you for sharing your humor and your life through your blogs. Humor is such an important tool to keep middle-aged moms sane!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Faith! Your workout schedule is inspirational. I'm trying to get in shape too. :) I agree about the humor. Without my sense of humor my husband and children would have institutionalized me years ago...they still might. Take care and enjoy your vacation and the book.
